Hello there!
I am Aditya Aserkar. I come from the bustling city of Mumbai within the chaotic-serene land of India. I am a mechanical engineer and a new media designer by formal education and an aspiring polymath. I've lived in over 4 countries, speak over 6 languages, and try to learn from each of these experiences, people, culture and behaviours.
I have keen interest in travel, music, woodworking, scientific discoveries, urban design, film making, pubic policies, philosophy, languages, social and cultural value systems, evolution of us and the thoughts within us.
I consider myself a problem seeker and not just a problem solver. In a positive way, this foresightedness has been acquired by flexibly working in varied work environments and team setups. From 4 people start-ups to 150-people diverse and distributed teams. From waterfall to SAFe, Agile. From manufacturing plants, to remote desk jobs.
What do I bring?
For the team
In the team, I strive to be business centric and impact focus. Comfortable to be away from the dogma of processes, aimed at the betterment of products and thus the users. Creating malleable process along the way. I fill the gaps that might be present between developing the best experience for the end user. I aim to bring stakeholders on the same page with Design Sprints.
I would mentor other designers with my knowledge especially of intersection of real and digital world. I would also be bringing in a warm and comforting working culture which is always one of my goals, where we can foster learning, critique, curiosity, humour, empathy and friendship.
What do I bring?
For the product
In the product, I would gear up for research, user-tests, data analysis, to influence roadmap, product architecture and downstream dependencies. Naturally, design for various modalities, form factors, and responsiveness. All coupled with creating UX patterns, and contributing to UX writing.
My core strength lies in systems thinking and connecting possibilities within product offerings, which might often be presented as product visions. Last but not the least, I’m a strong believer of documentation, of design decisions, data changes, and so on.
What do I bring?
For the company
In the company, I work towards positioning myself as a product builder and not a pixel pusher. I believe design ideations can be easily found in the AI universe as well as inspirations from competitors. But understanding the unique functioning, the product positioning, business priorities, architectural constraints, the unique technical dependencies of each organisation is the key to design implementation.
I focus on iterative approach in product development rather than being caught up in perfectionism, since there is no thing as such.
